Does mirrored film give privacy at night?
No — and anyone claiming otherwise is misselling. Mirrored film acts as a mirror toward the brighter side: by day it reflects outward (privacy), but at night, with your lights on, the effect reverses. For real nighttime privacy the answer is frosted film, opaque film, or combining with curtains.
What is frosted film and where is it used?
A translucent film with a sandblasted-glass finish: light comes through but silhouettes are fully blurred, day and night. In Panama we install it mostly in bathrooms, glass doors, office partitions, and interior storefronts — also as decorative bands with corporate branding.
Can I install privacy film in a condo (PH) without issues?
Depends where. Interior glass (partitions, bathrooms) has no restrictions. On façade windows, Law 284 of 2022 protects the building's uniform appearance: neutral tones usually pass fine, while flashy mirrored films are what cause conflict.
